What I Learned From The Desire To Progress

We often get trapped in this “advancement loop” because it keeps us busy, and it looks like we’re doing work that matters.

While progress is a good thing, making this a priority can lead to confusion and mixed results.

I remember when this reality hit me, and I began seeing others experiencing the same.

You see…

Regardless of how often you hear a piece of advice, it’s not until you experience it yourself that you truly listen.

Hopefully, today’s story will do more than a simple shoulder tap.

I remember this lady constantly attending my teacher’s seminars, anxious and impatient.

Even if she was freshly attuned to Usui level 2, she was determined to receive additional initiations. That was her main focus.

As a result, she spent very little time practicing, let alone understanding her current state.

My teacher kindly explained to her that she should first integrate what she had received, get used to the energy and vibration, observe and ask questions.

There’s no time limit for growing accustomed to any Reiki stage.

There’s no pressure to acquire new attunements because, often, what you already have, is enough to achieve remarkable results.

Still, if you are looking for a fixed timeframe, you should let in at least 3 months between attunements.

That’s what my teacher said to his restless student.

And, with good intention, he refused her requests.

Nevertheless, she found other Reiki teachers and fed her craving. She received attunements for Usui Reiki level 3 alongside Karuna 1-2 within a week.

Needless to say, she returned after a while, complaining that she felt utterly disconnected from reality, confused, and has been hearing random voices.

My teacher knew what was happening because it wasn’t the first time he had seen this. Her stubbornness messed up her energy fields and opened her excessively to the astral world.

She wasn’t prepared to handle such a high amount of energy and vibration level.

Eventually, my teacher helped her regain balance and told her to stick with Usui levels 1-2 until she felt comfortable with the techniques and the basic symbols. This exercise would gradually lead her to experience a new degree of awareness and vibration.

The moral of the story is straightforward: be patient and allow yourself to integrate what you already have while accepting that the first Usui levels are very potent. They aim to ensure a smooth transition from your initial state to a cleaner, high-vibrational one. You can read books and attend seminars, but don’t go overboard with them. It’s better to get lost in practice than additional information.

What’s The Role Of Usui Reiki Level 2

Within the Japanese tradition, level 2 represents the “hidden inner teachings.” It holds many spiritual keys that can dismantle subconscious obstacles and open you to new spiritual potential. Furthermore, you’ll be able to experience a higher awareness and access new levels of consciousness.

The sacred (not secret) symbols Cho Ku Rei, Sei He Ki, Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Shika Sei Ki, and Shika So hold many attributes that we often cannot perceive. They represent metaphysical concepts that you can apply in almost any situation.

But level 2 Usui Reiki is not limited to these symbols.

Instead, it offers access to an even higher manifestation of the universal life force energy than level 1 does.

This enables the practitioner to tap into a unique vibration with vast spiritual potential.

The Benefits Of Usui Reiki Level 2

• Increasing your overall vibration through self-treatment – the Reiki symbols provide access to certain types of manifestation of the universal life force energy. A perfect example is Sei He Ki, a symbol of harmony and emotional healing. Sei He Ki helps surface the root of an imbalance to the conscious level in order to heal it;

• Learning how to offer distance healing – implies channeling the universal energy to balance your past, present, and future. This concept is a game-changer in Reiki. Through this method, you can improve the outcome of events in your life that are already in progress or will take place in the future. Moreover, you can assist others in cleansing and healing mentally and emotionally.

• Creating Reiki projects – the “spiritual cheat sheet.” This method increases your potential for manifesting your desired goals. Of course, you always have to ask for everything to happen for your greater good because you don’t know what the best outcome looks like.

• Meditating on each Reiki symbol – this is how you integrate their energy and information. It’s also how you become aware of their unique and lesser know attributes that may be perfect for your situation.

Why Spending Enough Time On Reiki Level 2 Matters

One can think of many benefits and even more that are unique to each person.

Still, two of them stand out and are often overlooked:

First – Becoming aware of each element and integrating that information will considerably change your perception of Reiki. It will mature you as a practitioner and help you achieve more with less.

Second – Whatever you choose to do next, and however you may want to advance, this foundation will support your future endeavors. Regardless of the Reiki system you prefer, and even other types of energy healing practices, a good understanding of the first two Usui levels will provide you with an immense potential to evolve.

While the desire to develop as an individual is a healthy goal, doing so in a rush can undermine your progress.

I’m saying this because I’ve been there myself, and I know how it feels to engage in multiple systems and practices at once, thinking I would grow “stronger” with each one.

• Instead, take your time to absorb the messages you receive from each self-treatment.

• Become comfortable with each stage and even push yourself to do more with what you already have.

• Go back and forth, reflect, and try to go deeper into each concept.

• Add extra layers of knowledge gradually and constantly blend them with your previous experiences to create a unique and efficient practice that works for you.

And most of all… enjoy the process.
