Harnessing Reiki to Strengthen Your Bond with the Higher Self

Many Reiki practitioners, at one point in their spiritual journey, might fear losing their connection with their higher self.

It’s actually quite common, yet many face it as one of their biggest struggles. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Once you acknowledge the possibility of this occurrence and prepare yourself for facing it, dealing with a diminishing connection to your higher self can become a spiritual experience instead of an inner battle.

Before we get there, let’s first define the higher self and its role in our development.

Why Does The Higher Self Matter

My experience has taught me that the higher self is the connection to the divine energy that enables us to access different levels of the universal life force energy and reach a higher consciousness state.

It’s that side of us that ignites our desire to achieve great things or at least improve our current state by leaving our comfort zone. The higher self pushes us forward, supporting our efforts in fulfilling our spiritual duties by taking action in the physical plane.

Of course, not everybody is interested in nurturing this connection.

However, if you’re among those who are determined to make the most out of their energy healing practice, this is one thing you want to pay attention to.

The Detachment

Due to stress, responsibilities, and unwanted elements in our daily lives, our connection to the higher self may not always be as strong or healthy as we desire.

My Reiki teacher once told me that engaging in prolonged physical and mental efforts like pilgrimages, intense sports, or even long journeys may cause our guardian angel to temporarily “step back.

It’s not a rule… but it can happen.

Of course, this doesn’t imply that we completely lose the connection with our higher self or guardian angel. Instead, it may serve an unexpected and beneficial purpose.

I had difficulty understanding this concept and how it could lead to beneficial outcomes. However, after many years, I came to realize that during those moments, we are left solely with our inner selves, which encompass our shadow side, vital energy, and the universal energy we have accumulated within our bodies up until that point.

In other words, you are basically face-to-face with all your:

  1. Inner self programs (both beneficial and malevolent) – This observation has the role of making you aware of what needs to change, transform, or remain as it is within your inner self;
  2. Imbalances (emotional and mental) – You can have a clear image of what needs to be healed at these levels, and you begin to understand how certain decisions and actions may affect others as well as yourself in the long term;
  3. Spiritual potentials – You can clearly perceive what you can achieve once you overcome those small details that keep you still or may result from self-sabotage;

This level of introspection is more challenging to attain when we are constantly engaged in the divine will and under the “influence” of our guardian angel.

Of course, this is a temporary situation, and I believe it’s always preferable to be guided by divine intervention. I am merely emphasizing that these moments can be helpful when directly confronting our inner selves.

How Reiki Can Help Nurture Your Relationship With Your Inner Self

Considering we’re a Reiki-first spiritual newsletter, I’m going to propose a simple and effective method using Reiki symbol sequences. Still, this doesn’t exclude other options. So please consider replying to this email and let me know.

Now let’s get back to business:

  • Activate your palms by rubbing them thoroughly against each other;
  • Then activate your crown chakra with Cho Ku Rei + Sei He Ki + Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen. Add Dai Ko Myo if you are attuned to level 3 Usui Reiki;
  • Consider activating the rest of your chakras with Cho Ku Rei + Sei He Ki;
  • Place your hands above your crown chakra for 10 minutes each day for three days in a row. Channel universal energy with the intention of enhancing the connection to your higher self. Of course, you can integrate this procedure into self-treatment;
  • Once you’re done, remain in your chair with your back straight, close your eyes, and relax;
  • Visualize a beam of white shining light gradually descending from the top of your head. It will re-establish and strengthen the connection between the universal life force energy and your guardian angel;

You can also send distance healing to your guardian angel and to your spirit guides for about 5-10 minutes. Remember that these divine entities allow us to channel and receive universal energy. Therefore they play a crucial role in our healing and spiritual development.

Do this for 3 consecutive days and notice the difference. It might be subtle, so don’t worry if you can’t see it at first. Instead, take your time and let the details surface.

To summarize…

The fear of losing our connection with the higher self is common among Reiki practitioners.

However, it is essential to recognize that this detachment can serve as an opportunity for introspection and self-realization.

You can re-establish and enhance your connection with the higher self by embracing these moments and following the recommended steps.

Through this process, you empower yourself to embrace your inner potential, achieve balance, and manifest your spiritual purpose in the physical realm.
