Your Brain Is A Spiritual Organ And This Is Why It Matters To Treat It As One

We often expect Reiki to feel like magic.

We sit down, relax, and we’re ready for the flood of emotional healing to fill our bodies with bliss. And when it doesn’t come, we assume something is wrong or that we weren’t fully present.

While part of this could be true, there’s another element practitioners rarely include in their practice.

And that is… the brain.

We spend years nurturing the soul and the spirit while overlooking the one structure that translates all of it into something we can actually feel.

So let’s give the brain the attention it deserves.

The Brain Is The Starting Point

It’s so simple it’s complicated.

I remember our teacher guiding us in seminars to tune in to whatever we planned for that session. We would connect to the universal life force energy and then access different states of consciousness.

There were two questions we kept answering:

  1. “Which is the main conductor for the flow of universal life force energy through the body?” – that is the Crown Chakra, which sits above the head, nourishing the brain.
  2. “What part of the body do you use in visualization?” – the brain, once again.

Before we began working with the soul, tackling ancestral wounds, or clearing karmic debts, the very first structure we would activate was the brain.

Therefore, it only makes sense to understand and balance the brain at a physical, energetic, and spiritual level.

Why The Brain Plays Such A Crucial Role In Energy Healing

The brain is arguably the most complex structure in the human body.

It lets us think, remember, speak, plan, create, recognize patterns, and make sense of the world. From a biological standpoint, it sits at the center of nearly everything we consciously experience. And the more we learn about it, the more fascinating it becomes.

The brain is divided into two hemispheres:

  • The left hemisphere – which leans toward language, sequencing, analysis, and detail.
  • The right hemisphere – which leans toward spatial awareness, emotional tone, pattern recognition, creativity, and broader perception.

Still, calling one side purely “rational” and the other purely “intuitive” would be an oversimplification. These two complex elements are in constant communication, informing our actions and daily decisions.

But there’s a profound distinction worth acknowledging.

We’re designed to function through analysis and intuition. We need the rational side to organize, compare, and understand the physical world. And we need the intuitive side to sense patterns, feel connections, and stay open to experiences logic can’t immediately explain.

From a spiritual perspective, balance emerges when these two ways of experiencing life work together as a single, complete structure.

How The Brain Shapes Our Perception

As the saying goes…

Two people can see the same tree differently.

Perception is shaped by two elements:

  • Physical – determines how we interpret what’s in front of us and lets us form an objective view.
  • Energetic – the more healed we are emotionally and energetically, the higher the body’s vibration. This enables us to approach the world from a state of abundance, fear less, and lean toward optimism.

As I see it, the brain is closely tied to the emotional layer.

It doesn’t generate emotions. It just interprets them.

I believe emotions emerge at the soul level and become feelings once the brain gives them meaning. It’s why mental clarity and emotional balance are so connected to spiritual work.

The Brain Works As An Antenna

Processing information is just one part of the brain’s role.

This marvelous structure belongs to something bigger than ourselves. Operating at different frequencies, the brain is strongly tied to different states of consciousness.

In Gamma, the brain is alert and engaged with the outer world.

In Alpha or Theta, it’s calm and open to evolution.

This latter state is what monks and spiritual practitioners across the globe use in meditation to tap into Divine wisdom. Under the right conditions, and by training their brain to enter higher states of consciousness, one can translate signals beyond the physical realm.

This is what we know as the connection to our higher self.

The Bridge To Higher Levels Of Consciousness

The higher self connects the physical with the spiritual.

On one side, it holds everything that makes us human, while on the other, it provides access to spiritual guidance and divine wisdom.

The brain allows us to make this step consciously.

This happens at three levels:

  • The mind – which is attributed to all things physical. Yet it acts as the conductor for the universal life force energy and serves as your main engine for processing emotions, thoughts, and ideas.
  • The inner self – which is defined by the spirit and holds the inner child, the shadow, as well as the masculine and feminine energies.
  • The soul – or the divine spark we receive at birth. The soul is the structure most closely tied to the emotional body and holds the programs that allow us to function in the physical world.

Why The Brain Matters In Energy Healing

We are one structure and function as a whole.

When we neglect one part of ourselves, the rest suffer. And, of course, the outcome is incomplete. To achieve optimal results, we must constantly align our mind, body, and spirit with the practice.

Constantly matching your brain with the frequency of the universal life force energy and raising its vibration, will allow you to let your mind go quiet. In this state of peace, you learn to appreciate the brain’s role as a spiritual element.

The rest will follow through.
