Befriend Your Ego To Transform Anger Into Emotional Balance

“The ego must be crushed into oblivion in order to become healed.” – said one of my students a few weeks ago.

To which I replied:

“Crushing your ego means acting from a state of anger that will hurt part of your inner self. This will damage balance and lead to a state of frustration and anxiety.”

The ego cannot be killed.

Anger is part of who we are. It belongs to our inner selves and is present for many reasons. Together, they define our way of being, our nature, and the way we show up in the world:

• These feelings helped us survive since we were living in caves.

• They taught us how to hunt and avoid being hunted.

• Channeled anger and ego determined us to survive conflicts for thousands of years.

But there’s a clear paradox.

All these traits have contributed to our spiritual nature’s downfall. Throughout history, we have failed to develop the emotional discipline and knowledge needed to understand the ego and our feelings of anger. As a result, we let them run wild and toward destructive behavior.

However, people are waking up.

Amidst the beauty and struggles of everyday life, we are beginning to lean toward spiritual practices that help us heal our inner selves and emotional layers.

From yoga and meditation to the Silva Method and Reiki, the collective consciousness of the world is slowly shifting toward introspection, understanding, and healing.

This process doesn’t mean refraining from anger.

It doesn’t tell us to suppress our ego.

It means educating ourselves to a level where we surpass the need to act on these impulses.

How Can We Educate Our Ego And Anger

I learned a lot from personal experiences.

My ego was humbled through relationships. You’l be amazed how easily you can overcome selfishness, arrogance, and comfort when you’re in love. It’s like you’re a whole different person… one that’s living for the happiness of the other.

I guess love definitely tames the ego.

Then, I met Reiki.

My first teacher was exceptionally good at drawing out low-vibrational emotions and making you acknowledge them with a smile on his face. A rather unorthodox method, some might say. Yet, very effective.

“Never believe you’re the center of the universe.” – was one of his favorite sayings.

And he was right.

He opened our eyes and helped us free ourselves from the chains of our own ego without crushing it. Life will always face you with the lessons you need to learn. But being led by someone who’s already been there will accelerate the process.

Therefore, I turned to Reiki and meditation to educate my ego.

• Reiki helped me cleanse a big part of my mental and emotional negative patterns.

• It shaped a different worldview and that made me understand that every person is part of my life for a reason.

Whether to trigger certain emotions or face mandatory lessons, everything unfolded to support my evolution.

Reiki and introspection also surfaced my flaws. They taught me how to love myself for who I was and heal the elements detrimental to my growth.

It was a clear and effective mechanism for enhancing the beneficial aspects of my inner self.

How Reiki Can Help Mature Your Ego

I want to end this letter with actionable advice.

Whenever you feel angry, your ego is probably ready to show its darkest side. Don’t fall for it. Instead, be prepared to pull out the aid kit.

• Immediately shift your attention to the flow of universal life force energy.

• Visualize the universal flow running through your crown chakra

• Activate the Cho Ku Rei + Sei He Ki + Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen + Dai Ko Myo sequence of symbols above your crown chakra.

That’s it!

It may sound simple, but it’s a very effective method of addressing your ego. It’s way better than falling victim to its influence. In fact, acknowledging its presence and preparing to address it right there is the first step in controlling its random outbursts.

Believe it or not, we’re still in our adolescence when it comes to spiritual awakening. There are many aspects to heal and integrate into our inner selves. We have a long way to go, but we’re on the right track.

Becoming aware of our ego is a wonderful first step in the right direction.

In conclusion…

You don’t need to force yourself to “cancel” your feelings.

Expressing them, even if it can get a little toxic, is way better than holding them back. Stagnant emotions can create severe imbalances in the emotional layers, eventually affecting the physical ones. Just be sure that when you express them, you don’t hurt others.

From that point on, learning to take a step back, intercept that negative moment, and open the flow of universal life force energy within it will feel like the sun rising after a storm. Learn to educate your ego and guide it toward constructive outcomes.

Make your ego your friend, and it will mirror your behavior.
