I just returned from a trip abroad.
I visited a good friend for an event and enjoyed both the city and the people I’ve met. This place is by far more developed, cleaner, and civilized than where I live. It had a good vibration, and I came back recharged and full of optimism.
But even so, there’s something about my city that always makes me feel welcome. It’s probably because I was born here and all my family and friends live close by.
Still, there’s another element that grounds and heals me.
And that’s my home.
I keep this personal sanctuary cleansed and, as much as possible, at a high vibration. I’m always looking to add whatever makes me feel comfortable and joyful.
I use Reiki symbols to dissolve the negative energies that accumulate over time and embed crystals with Reiki to absorb what I bring back from my travels.
But turning your home into a space of energetic and physical recovery doesn’t require complex techniques. You can achieve a lot with Reiki Level 1 alone.
That’s what we’re going to discuss today.
Turn Your Home Into A Sanctuary
Mindset is what we’re going to start with.
We travel. We meet people. We encounter situations and visit places with all sorts of energies. We are like a sponge, absorbing a lot of what we come in contact with.
And… what happens with all these energies?
We bring them home, of course.
Our home should be a place of recovery and rest. A safe environment where we can be vulnerable and let go of daily worries so our bodies can rebalance.
But if this place is filled with low-vibrational energies (maybe even entities), the last thing it will benefit from is recovery.
That’s why we should place energetic cleansing on the same level as house cleaning. We should constantly remove this type of residue just like we dust off the furniture, vacuum, and clean the windows.
If you turn your home into a sanctuary, it will care for you in return.
How To Cleanse Your Home With Reiki Level 1
Being a Reiki Level 1 practitioner doesn’t mean you’re weak.
There’s so much you can achieve with this knowledge compared to a Master who forgot all about their practice.
That said, your toolset is limited. But you can compensate for the lack of variety with physical elements.
Before we get there, let’s run through the Reiki procedure:
- Activate your palms by rubbing them against each other.
- Call upon the universal life force energy and invite it into the physical plane to flow through your crown chakra and into your hands.
- Start channeling Reiki to each wall and corner of the room. Then direct the universal energy toward the ceiling and floor. Finish the cleansing in the center of the room. Spend about 2-3 minutes in each position.
The room might have stuck energy prints in certain areas, especially if you hear cracks or objects falling when it’s quiet. That’s when more help from your part could help. Use both hands to gather that residual energy just like you pick up sand from the beach and then release it into the ground with the intention of sending it to its optimal dimension.
Even if they look simple, these are very potent methods. In fact, it’s the exact procedure you’d use at any level.
So don’t rush and be present because channeling energy is far more efficient than activating symbols mindlessly, hoping they will work on their own.
5 Physical Elements I Use In Home Cleansing
1) Incense – Sandalwood, lavender, Palo Santo, frankincense, or myrrh are some of the most popular (and effective) elements you can burn or head. Once they start leaving smoke and you can smell it, smudge around the room in the same areas discussed above. But keep in mind that incense from a holy place like a monastery or church will always have a higher vibration than one bought from a store.
2) Candles – These are the physical representation of Divine Light. Once you light them, declare your intention to cleanse the room and even send Reiki for a few minutes to amplify their effect. Candles have the potential to transmute negative energies and programs into pure light. Of course, buying them from holy places will offer a higher vibration. Consider choosing beeswax candles, as they are purer.
3) Music – Tibetan or church bells, mantras, prayers, and Gregorian chants are great examples of high-vibrational tunes which have the potential to dispel negative entities and energies. These tunes play at frequencies from the Divine solfeggio, which negative energies, and especially entities, dislike.
4) Crystals – Place crystals around your room, in the corners, or where your intuition dictates. But choosing the right crystal for your goal is equally important. For example, dark-colored crystals absorb energy, while light-colored crystals are better for directing the universal flow. So it’s worth learning about each type of crystal and aligning them with your intention.
5) Salt – One of the oldest purification tools in spiritual practice. Coarse salt absorbs negative energy and creates a protective barrier when placed in the corners of a room or along windowsills and doorways. You can leave it for 24 to 48 hours and then dispose of it outside your home… never inside. Sea salt or Himalayan salt work best. Avoid table salt because the refining process strips away most of its natural properties.
Channeling Is All You Need
Reiki Level 1 is a very potent stage.
Regardless of where you are in your journey, this is a good reminder of how effective the basics are. They work because they make up the foundation. Everything else we know and love in Reiki works because of these fundamental principles.
Of course, physical elements and Reiki symbols can play a crucial part in your practice, but only if you use them to enhance, not replace, the core.
Start with your hands and move up from there.
