Children carry something we often forget as adults.
A purity that’s hard to put into words.
Their eyes reflect a light that seems freshly borrowed from the Divine. And when you hold a newborn, you’re not just holding a tiny body. You’re witnessing a spirit that just crossed from the astral realm into ours.
It’s profound.
That’s why, in many cultures, one of the first acts is baptism.
I recently became a godfather.
It was both a privilege and a blessing.
But it also sparked a spiral of thoughts I couldn’t ignore:
Baptism creates a spiritual bridge between the child and the Divine.
At least, that’s the idea.
Yet, not all cultures embrace this ritual.
Some see it as optional, while others don’t practice it at all.
Neither choice is “good” or “bad.”
Every spirit that incarnates already has Divine protection. A guardian angel is assigned to them before they even take their first breath. So, all children are connected to the universal life force energy.
Still, you can enhance this flow through Baptism.
But it’s not the only way.
You can use Reiki attunements on a newborn.
Reiki has a special place in the spiritual world.
It’s not a belief system that demands allegiance. But you can use its techniques to channel Divine light with every session and connect to the universal life force energy, whether through self-treatment or healing others.
But Reiki attunements take this further.
They open your energy fields and push a healthy flow of universal energy through your body. It’s a ritual of acceptance into the Divine plane of existence. A step toward receiving spirit guides and wisdom beyond what we can offer as humans.
Reiki attunements are very similar to baptism.
Yet, there’s a crucial distinction.
Baptism connects you to a specific belief system.
Reiki is universal and connects you to the universal energy.
Both provide access to beneficial entities like spirit guides and guardian angels. And both raise your awareness and open you to Divine wisdom. But baptisms will always align you with the vibration of that belief system.
So, which one should you choose?
NOTE: I’m not suggesting one option over another. And I’m not even recommending replacing a traditional baptism with a Reiki attunement. A priest who does this every day usually has a higher vibration and spiritual gift than a Reiki practitioner. The reverse can also be true. But, in general, the baptism performed by a priest in a church has more beneficial elements converging.
A newborn won’t understand spiritual concepts.
They can’t grasp the idea of symbols or techniques.
So it’s our responsibility, as parents, to choose for them.
I would still prioritize a baptism over a Reiki attunement.
But if the parent doesn’t resonate with any religious belief but still wants a formal introduction into the spiritual world, they can consider a Reiki attunement.
The Usui Level 1 is often enough.
It will provide the infant with the optimal energetic protection, a higher vibration, and guidance from their spirit guides. This ritual will open them to the universal life force energy, making the infant more receptive to Reiki.
Consent is mandatory:
- If you’re a practitioner, you can’t attune someone else’s child without their approval because you will violate their free will.
- If the parents are separated, it will be best for both to agree on this ritual so the process can flow smoother.
- Ideally, both parents and the practitioner should align with this decision (which happens in most cases).
Mind the child’s behaviour:
- If the child falls asleep, don’t wake them up.
- If they start crying, pause the treatment for a while.
- If they want to leave and play, consider distance healing.
Follow these guidelines for best practices.
But, at the end of the day, what matters most is the intention. The practitioner, whether a priest or Reiki Master, must be in harmony with the parents for the greater good of the child. Their role is to accept this sacred ritual as a blessing so the child can step into the world spiritually prepared.
This gift ties the family together.
A Family Rooted In Light
Families have a strong connection.
Children strengthen this bond even more through shared interests and responsibilities. Yet, once you decide to take this one step further and connect in the spiritual plane, things take a whole new dimension.
- You begin clearing karmic debts.
- You harmonize your emotional layers.
- You cleanse your energy fields and chakras.
This connection will last a lifetime. Maybe even longer. But for now, in this moment in time, you become a manifestation of the Divine Will.
The family transmutes into a sphere of light and love.
