When I was about 15, I started drawing maps of places I wanted to visit. I filled them with as much detail as I could manage at that age, then pictured myself walking those streets and meeting the locals.
I had a worn-out world atlas too (I still own it), and I’d trace the routes of old explorers while reading about everything they discovered.
Years later, I actually stood in some of those places.
It felt like a dream stepping into the physical world.
Some would say I attracted those opportunities because I mapped them for so long my subconscious informed the decisions I took years later.
Others would say the trips came true because of the energy I poured into tracing those trails.
The truth is somewhere in the middle.
It was what I’ve come to call alignment.
And once you understand the difference between alignment and simple desire, the way you pursue abundance, love, and even healing, changes completely.
Desire offers direction.
It’s when our thoughts lead to emotions we want to explore.
But desire alone creates a vicious cycle of neediness.
You are constantly in “wanting mode,” chasing what you don’t have. The loop never closes because you never start pursuing that dream. The more you focus on what you lack, the more you strengthen this belief.
Your eyes might see in the future, but your emotions stay chained in absence.
This is exactly where alignment comes in.
Alignment means matching your frequency with what you want to experience.
In more practical terms…
Alignment is all about bringing your inner world and your actions closer to the life you’re trying to create. Your thoughts, emotions, choices, habits, and intentions begin to point in the same direction.
This isn’t about pretending everything is perfect when it isn’t. It’s not about ignoring problems or dodging responsibility. It’s subtler than that…
You shift from someone who desires to someone who is.
Energy flows where attention goes (and you can do it deliberately).
Affirmations expose the difference between desire and alignment better than anything I can think of.
A statement like “I am rich” sounds powerful. But words alone don’t touch the emotional state beneath them. Your mind repeats one message while your emotional body says the opposite, and that contradiction creates resistance instead of transformation.
For an affirmation to work, two things have to happen:
- You need to be clear about what you desire.
- You need to do the inner work to remove blockages.
The goal is to progress from:
Desire > Conscious Thought > Feeling
If you practice this each day, 3 things tend to happen:
- You will raise your vibration, because you obviously think of something positive, and align your frequency with that reality. This is the first step in matching the energy you want to enter.
- You open the path for healing. Alignment invites energetic cleansing and emotional repair rather than forcing an outcome.
- You learn more about who you are and what you need to grow. The events you come across, the people you meet, the challenges you face, are all lessons that will move you forward and closer to your goal.
There is no magic phrase.
The aim is to build a bridge between your interest and its actual realization. You might start with affirmations. But you also need to clear the pathway and put yourself in the shoes of the person you’re aspiring to become…
The parent.
The traveler.
The professional.
So on and so forth.
It’s like assembling the ingredients of a recipe instead of choosing the one you like most and hoping for the best.
That is why I strongly believe…
Alignment involves the whole person.
Alignment asks several layers of you to cooperate.
The mind holds your beliefs.
The emotional body carries your past.
The energetic system mirrors your inner state.
And your behavior reveals how you actually respond to life.
When these layers support one another, the path becomes clear with each step you take. Nothing good comes easy. So don’t expect for things to happen overnight or never encounter difficulties.
Life holds circumstances beyond our control. What alignment changes is the one thing you can control: the quality of your participation.
Ready to get what you desire?
There are a few “rules” so to speak, I want to leave you with:
- Ask if you are ready. A healthy relationship implies more than physical attraction. A certain position demands more of you than what you’re currently assigned to do. Live that responsibility as if you’re already that person, and be honest with yourself. Do you really want it? Are you prepared?
- The outcome you envisioned might not be the optimal one for you. Constantly inform the Universe to help you manifest this desire in the best way for you. Accept change. Accept D-tours. Be flexible, and the unexpected will become part of the journey.
- Transformation rarely occurs without inner work. If it does suddenly appear, it’s because it’s overdue. Therefore, it’s better to start sooner so you can evolve from a state of abundance, discover yourself, and steer as your intuition develops rather than what others point you toward.
Desire shows you what you’d like to experience.
At first, it acts as a starting point. Then, as you align yourself with the frequency of your desire, it becomes part of an evolutionary process. Finally, you will arrive at the optimal outcome for your greater good.
From there on, you can step into the next challenge.
